Turkey is a growth market, and the construction sector is no exception. For this reason, BASF Coatings teamed up with other BASF divisions at Turkeybuild to present their products and services in order to continue to establish their presence in this emerging market.
BASF Coatings joined forces with its Turkish customer Coat Coil, using the building show as a platform to present exhibit items coated with the coil coating technique, such as roller blinds or facade elements. "We used our joint presentation with Coat Coil at Turkeybuild to display our proximity to the customer, which is one of BASF Coatings’ particular strengths,” said Thomas Brücken, who is the responsible account manager for Turkey.
Coil coating applications play an important role in Turkey, and the market is characterized by explosive growth. "Currently, many new coil coaters are emerging in Turkey. Another reason for presenting BASF Coatings at Turkeybuild was to generate additional business,” Uzel explained. Uzel is pleased with the results of the presentation at the exhibition in Istanbul, reporting that booth personnel had several promising discussions with potential customers.
One of the BASF products presented at the fair was the chromate-free primer COILTEC TOP Universal, which is especially easy on the environment thanks to its significantly reduced solvent content. In addition to high eco-efficiency, it also offers corrosion protection and outstanding flexibility and adhesion, allowing application even at high line speeds. Visitors attending Turkeybuild also obtained information on the POLYCERAM Plus topcoat system, whose special properties, such as UV resistance, flexibility and high reliability in application are particularly in demand in Turkey.
With 1,150 exhibitors on an area of 81,000 square meters, TURKEYBUILD is Turkey’s largest show for building materials and construction technology. The exhibition has taken place on an annual basis since 1978 and targets customers from Turkey, the Balkans, Northern Africa and the Middle East.
