PPG Industries’ coil and building products group has introduced DURAFORM™ BP coating, a next-generation polyester coil coating engineered specifically for building product manufacturers.
Designed for one-coat application over aluminum or two-coat application over aluminium or hot-dipped galvanised steel, Duraform BP coating is formulated with PPG’s proprietary star-shaped polyester polymer to enhance forming flexibility and increase resistance to colour fading, chalk, dirt and stains. The coating is available in a wide palette of colours in high, medium and low glosses, and it offers more processing flexibility than conventional polyester coatings because of its wide cure parameters and excellent flow characteristics.
Brian Knapp, PPG director, coil and building products, said Duraform BP coating is formulated to deliver a higher grade of coating quality to value-driven building product manufacturers. "The unique chemical structure of Duraform BP coating enables it to outperform traditional polyester coatings, particularly through its bonding strength with aluminium and galvanised steel,” he said. "That enables our customers to make products that look better and last longer at an economical price.”
