PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business recently held a successful seminar on Duranar coatings at the Hong Kong International Commerce Centre (ICC), highlighting its fluoropolymer coatings and introducing a new product under the Duranar brand. More than 100 building owners, designers, architectural consultants and members of the Curtain Wall Association attended the seminar.

PPG highlighted a wide portfolio of coatings products for the architectural industry, shared 2014 architectural colour trends. In addition, PPG introduced the newly-developed marble-effective coating that can produce vivid granite aluminum plates that may replace natural resources with superior safety and environmental benefits.

"As a leading global coatings company, PPG commits to sharing its advanced technologies and products with industry experts in China to help boost the development of the coatings industry,” said Xiao Liming, PPG Business Director, Fluoropolymer Coatings, China. "We strive to provide Chinese customers with innovative coatings products. By setting up a quality-control system to ensure high performance of our products, we devote ourselves to providing the best solutions for building protection to our customers.”

PPG introduced fluoropolymer coatings for use in the construction market more than 40 years ago and is today one of the world’s largest manufacturer of fluoropolymer coatings. With excellent durability and outstanding resistance to chalking and fading, PPG’s fluoropolymer coatings under the Duranar brand help minimise maintenance and repainting and they are well-suited for use on doors, window frames, curtain wall, decorative plates of landmark buildings and in other architectural applications.

"Duranar coatings help protect many landmark buildings in Hong Kong, such as the International Commerce Centre where our seminar is staged, as well as the HSBC building that was the first building coated with PPG’s fluoropolymer coatings in Asia, and the International Finance Centre,” said Tom Irwin, PPG Product Director, Industrial Coatings, Asia Pacific. "We will continue to work closely with our customers and provide high-quality products and service to meet the growing demand in the industry.”
