PPG has appointed Sam Millikin as Vice President, aerospace coatings, effective January 1, 2024. In this role, Millikin will lead this global strategic business and succeed Daniel G. Korte, current Senior Vice President, PPG aerospace coatings, who has announced his intent to retire in the second quarter 2024.
Millikin (pictured) joined PPG in 1989 and has progressed through various roles of increasing responsibility during his 34 years. This has included roles in account management, sales and marketing within PPG’s speciality coatings and materials business. In 2013, Millikin joined PPG’s aerospace packaging business as a global platform business manager with responsibility for strategy development, pricing, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain and engineering/product development. He was named Global Platform Director for PPG’s aerospace sealants and packaging business in 2017 where he managed all aspects of this business. In 2020, Millikin was appointed to his current role of Global Platform Director of PPG’s aerospace coatings and sealants business.

Korte joined PPG in 2018 from LMI Aerospace, Inc., where he was Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s board of Directors. Prior to LMI, he progressed through various roles at Boeing, including Programme Manager, F/A-18E; Vice President, supplier management and procurement; and Vice President and General Manager, global strike systems. He also served as President, defense business at Rolls-Royce.
