Oxea, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Oxo chemicals, announced today the appointment of Dr Salim Al Huthaili as the new CEO of the company. With the decision of the Board of Oxea Sàrl to implement a new management structure with a CEO, Dr Salim Al Huthaili took over this new role in Oxea’s management organisation. Dr Martina Flöel, who has so far served as the speaker of the prior Executive Board of three Managing Directors, will leave the company. Dr. Al Huthaili first joined Oxea in early 2015 as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and then later became a member of the Oxea Executive Board with increasing responsibilities.
"Oxea has shown an outstanding business development over the years. Today we’re one of the leading merchant suppliers of Oxo products such as alcohols, aldehydes, and acids. To stay on top, we will continue to move Oxea forward to grow our business and expand into profitable growth sectors,” Dr Al Huthaili said. "And on behalf of management and staff I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Martina Flöel for her strong commitment to Oxea and her outstanding achievements and remarkable results in the past,” he concluded.
Dr Salim Al Huthaili, 38, has built an impressive record of accomplishment and growth in his career in the chemical and process industry. Before joining Oxea, he worked at Oman Oil Company, Muscat, as Strategy and Performance Director for the Downstream Business. Prior to Oman Oil, Dr Al Huthaili held various roles in Royal Dutch Shell including leading the Shell Chemicals Operations in the Middle East. Al Huthaili holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Nottingham, England, one of the world’s top 100 universities.
