Decorative paint and woodcare sales continued to improve in June, according to the latest statistics from the British Coatings Federation although the industrial coatings sector remained more subdued.
Looking ahead to the remainder of 2014, the BCF’s latest Business Confidence Survey shows the UK market is expected to continue to improve especially in decorative paint but with industrial coatings also expected to do better. Decorative paint companies are the most upbeat for 2014 with an almost universal view that sales will continue to increase and with a third of companies expecting sales value growth in excess of 10%. On the industrial side, 90% of companies are now forecasting UK sales value growth for 2014 as a whole with one in four expecting an improvement of more than 10%.
