Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals) has launched a new film-forming polymer, Dermacryl X, that helps formulators to meet the latest consumer trends in the sunscreen market.
"There is an increasing demand from consumers for higher sun protection factor (SPF) sunscreens that offer longer wear protection and water resistance, as well as improved feel on the skin,” said Jens Müller, Global Technical Marketing Manager Personal Care at Nouryon.
"We have created Dermacryl X to fill this gap. It enables our customers to create the finest rub-on sun protection products requiring an SPF greater than 50, as well as market-leading water and wear resistance,” he said.
"It also reduces the stickiness and oily feel of rub-on sunscreen products without compromising on strong SPF protection.”
Nouryon launched Dermacryl X this week at the Society of Cosmetic Chemists’ 72nd Annual Scientific Meeting & Technology Showcase in New York City.
Together with Dermacryl 79, an industry-leading film former for continuous spray sunscreens, Nouryon now has a competitive product offering for the entire sunscreen market.
"We are very excited to announce this product, which reflects our focus on sustainable innovations that help us support the growth of our customers,” said AB Ghosh, Managing Director of Nouryon’s Surface Chemistry business.
"It also strengthens our offering in one of our most important end-use market sectors.”
