Vitex SA's Armodios Yannidis elected President of the Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries


The new Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries (HACI) was constituted into a body on Monday, June 6, following the elections held during the Association’s Annual General Meeting. The new board of directors was formed as follows:

President: Armodios Yannidis (VITEX S.A.)

1st Vice-president: Vassilis Gounaris (BASF Hellas S.A.)

2nd Vice-president: Alexandros Katraouzos (NEOTEX S.A.)

Secretary General: Georgia Spyridaki (HELLENIC PETROLEUM R.S.S.O.P.P. S.A.)

Treasurer: Theodore – Dimitrios Stathopoulos (KAPACHIM S.A.)

Member: Charalambos Varelas (MEGARA RESINS S.A.)

Member: Alexandros Krallis (N. KRALLIS S.A.)

Member: Vassos Efthymiadis (K&N EFTHYMIADIS SINGLE MEMBER S.A.)

Member: Theodora Kouloura (KAVALA FERTILIZERS LTD.)

On taking office, the new President of the Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries talked about the Association’s evolution through time. In his remarks, Mr Yannidis laid particular emphasis on how the two former presidents, V Efthymiadis and V Gounaris, had contributed to reinforcing the Association’s role as an institution and representative of the wider Greek chemical industry. "Speaking in chemical terms, they succeeded in increasing the volume and specific gravity of the Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries,” noted Mr Yannidis. He concluded by stressing that: “The new Board of Directors will continue working with transparency, integrity and responsibility, respect towards our stakeholders and always committed to scientific substantiation. Our goal is that the Greek Chemical Industry will act as a sustainability catalyst offering innovative solutions to the ever growing problems faced by both our planet and society.”

*The Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries (HACI) represents the wider Greek chemical industry. In 2021 the turnover totalled €3.1bn, increased by 23.6% compared to 2020. It employs 13,000 highly skilled employees in approximately 1000 companies, mostly medium-sized. Exports in 2021 reached €2.1bn, recording an increase by 27% compared to 2020 and accounting for 5.4% of total Greek exports.
