Bodo Möller Chemie is exclusive BASF distributor in Egypt

Bodo Möller Chemie has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with BASF SE for Resins and Additives for the paints and coatings industry in Egypt. As a leading distributor and expert for application-specific product use, the product portfolio of Bodo Möller Chemie optimally satisfies the needs of the CASE industry. Due to the exclusive partnership, added value is created for both companies: Bodo Möller Chemie supports BASF with its international logistics network and local market access. Users benefit from the extensive solution portfolio of a leading manufacturer, as well as from the sound practical knowledge of the distributor and the range of the customer-specific formulations in the Bodo Möller Chemie Polymer System House. In addition to the Cairo administrative office and a laboratory in Alexandria, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group in Egypt operates for this purpose its own production facility with attached coatings laboratory in Sadat City.

“Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers (CASE) are decisive cornerstones of modern industry used in key sectors like the automobile industry or the timber and construction sector. Nowadays, the needs of our customers go clearly beyond the product and require the comprehensive expertise from our distributor’s side. We offer products, know-how and numerous services. At the same time, close partnerships with a manufacturer like BASF are extremely important, because only in this way we can jointly offer the best solution for our customers,” saids Florian Krückl, Vice President Global Business Management CASE & Textile Effects of Bodo Möller Chemie. BASF also benefits from market proximity and knowledge, as Bodo Möller Chemie has been very close to the customers and application sectors for decades. “Based on our longstanding collaboration in other countries, Bodo Möller Chemie is the partner of choice for our distribution set-up in Egypt,” said Dr Bernd Meyer-Roscher, Head of Sales Resins and Additives Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and West Asia, BASF. “The agreement enables us to focus on our local key accounts and multinationals, while leveraging the strength of Bodo Möller Chemie’s powerful distribution channels to reach small and mid-size customers that might otherwise be overlooked,” Dr Meyer-Roscher added. With its own Polymer System House in Egypt, Bodo Möller Chemie has also specialised on the formulation and the extensive testing of polymer materials.

“As a special service offering, we manufacture in our own plant – the Bodo Möller Chemie Polymer House – customer-specific formulations of polymer materials. With this formulation, optimisation and formulation service, we support the local industry and can supply products ready for use,” described Yehia Desouky, Managing Director of Bodo Möller Chemie Egypt SAE. For this purpose, the location offers a modern and comprehensively certified facility for the formulation of liquid polymer compounds. Likewise, additional chemical products – adhesives, resin systems for composites, casting and laminating resins as well as model-making products (tooling materials) – are mixed. The product range is offered both for large and small quantities. To this end, the Egypt location is certified according to the decisive European ISO and EHS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
