Michelman introduced ChinaCoat 2015 attendees to its line of polymeric binder systems that are formulated to work flawlessly with the company’s speciality line of surface additives. This pairing of compatible Michelman binders and additive technologies gives customers a competitive advantage by facilitating faster new product development time and improved speed-to-market.
Featured solutions include water-based, low and no-VOC coating systems based on Ecrothan®, Ecrylic® and ProHere™ brand polymeric binders in combination with a variety of Michem® and other popular brands of surface additives. These highly effective, and proven solutions feature rapid film forming without the use of added coalescents. They also exhibit rapid development of properties including tack free surface aspect, as well as water and chemical resistance.
Ecrothan 2012 is an example of a binder introduced to show attendees that produces rapid development of hardness and water resistance in a durable wood coating formulation. For industrial wood manufacturers, this allows quick stacking of product and improves operating efficiency. Ecrylic RA 111 is an example of a solution that quickly produces water resistance in interior and exterior wood paint and coatings, quickly protecting the surface from the elements.
In applications such as these, where very tough polymers must be combined with wax additives to produce desired surface properties, Michelman’s ability to quickly solve incompatibilities and help achieve the optimal mix is a powerful advantage.
According to Mr. Richard Yang, Michelman’s Country Manager, China, "We are able to provide a distinct advantage to customers by pairing binder and additive recommendations that we know will successfully perform well together. This knowledge allows our customers to quickly make informed formulation decisions and get their own products to market faster.”
ChinaCoat 2015 is being held November 18-20 in Shanghai, China. Show attendees in search of high performance, user-friendly solutions for wood coatings, metal coatings, architectural specialty coatings, as well as inks and OPVs will find Michelman in booth C33-34, Hall E.
