The Ingredients business of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) is teaming up with the chemical division of Jebsen Group to combine expertise to expand geographical coverage and service capability in Asia.
This partnership combines the expertise of both organisations, establishing a stronger regional presence that provides better service capability to customers in Asia.
The joint venture aims at expanding JJING network to Greater China region riding on the expertise on customer sales, regulatory affairs, import-export, supply chain management and network of JI-SI&S.
At the same time, JI-SI&S would enjoy a wider platform to gain the exposure across Asia, and the benefits of creating a Pan-Asian chemical and ingredients business.
Heinrich Jessen, Chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) said, "The decision to form a joint venture with our sister company is a first in the history of our family enterprise.
"It is a logical step to take given the deep expertise in speciality ingredients distribution developed by both organisations in different geographies over more than half a century.”
Helmuth Hennig, Group Managing Director of Jebsen Group said, "In conjunction with our sister company, Jebsen & Jessen (SEA), we are creating a Pan-Asian chemical and ingredients business, one which has the scope to cover markets from Myanmar in the west, to Indonesia in the south, the Philippines in the east and Greater China in the north.
"This enhanced business model allows us to utilise the strengths of both companies to build for the future.”
Marc Deschamps, Regional Managing Director & CEO of Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients said, "JJING has a very wide and deep focus on the speciality chemicals and consumer related business whilst JI-SI&S has a deep focus on the chemical, food and nutritional business in China.
"The two entities, whilst different scale in business size and geographic coverage are very similar in terms of market focus.
"Coming together in a new joint venture of equals we feel that there are many synergies as there are regional resources to be shared and unique talents on either side which would make us a much stronger force in the market operating as one.”
Operating under the name Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients (Hong Kong) Co. Ltd. in HK, and Jebsen Specialty Chemicals Co. Ltd. in Mainland China, the joint venture will be led by Jeff Cui.
