As a global market leader in photoinitiators, IGM Resins would like to comment on the concerns raised by the market, specifically in Europe, North America, South America, and Japan, related to the recent finding of higher concentrations of PCBs (Polychlorinated biphenyls) in several sources of the production of 2-Hydroxy-2-methyl-1 – phenyl-propane (CAS NO. 7473-98-5).
IGM Resins hereby confirms that Omnirad™ 1173, produced in Mortara (Italy), owing to its specific and advanced manufacturing process, does not contain any detectable levels of PCBs. As the only European production location of photoinitiators, IGM Resins guarantees the highest standards when it comes to Safety, Health and Environment. The Omnirad™ 1173 that will be produced in 2022 at IGM’s brand new flagship production site in Anqing (China) will likewise be free of detectable levels of PCB.
Aligned with its purpose and as part of the new Go, Grow, Green strategy, IGM Resins is fully committed to optimise production processes where needed and, in close collaboration with our raw material suppliers, eliminate unintendedly created substances, such as PCBs, from all of IGM’s products by the end of 2021.
Wilfrid Gambade, CEO at IGM Resins said: "As the reliable and responsible business partner driving the UV industry, our commitment is to provide the market with sustainable solutions for generations to come.”
