Coatings experts from Huntsman will take to the seminar stage at ChinaCoat later this week to share knowledge and insights about the formulation of high performance domestic, decorative and industrial coatings.
The Huntsman team is scheduled to deliver two technical seminars. On the first day of the exhibition – Wednesday 18 November – Kim Wang, Team Leader of Specialty Components at Huntsman Advanced Materials, will give a presentation entitled ‘Waterborne epoxy solutions for industrial coatings’. The paper will compare and contrast the different waterborne epoxy solutions available for general industrial coating applications. Kim’s seminar will be delivered in Chinese and will take place at 14:30 hours in meeting room E3-M22.
The following day, Jacky Deng, a senior scientist within Huntsman’s Performance Products business, will deliver a paper on polyetheramines for epoxy emulsification. Huntsman is one of the world’s largest producers of amines and has developed a wide range of functional chemistries for the coatings market. Jacky’s seminar will focus on the special structure of Huntsman’s JEFFAMINE® monoamines, which are widely used in epoxy-based applications. He’ll explain how the utilisation of both hydrophilic backbone and reactive amine end groups can be harnessed to modify epoxy resins and prepare high performance waterborne epoxy resin emulsions. Jacky’s presentation will take place at 11:30 hours in meeting E4-M25.
Kim Wang is an expert in waterborne epoxy systems application technology support and new product development. He works at Huntsman’s research and technology center in Shanghai, China. Kim graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2008 with a Masters degree in material science. Over the last seven years he has worked in polymer performance / structure characterization and specialty components for coating application.
Jacky Deng graduated in 2002 from Huanzhong University of Science & Technology with a major in applied chemistry. After university he specialized in the development of adhesives and sealants before joining Huntsman in 2012 to focus on polyetheramine application research.
