Manchester-based, HMG Paints recently had the privilege of welcoming representatives from the Bank of England to its Riverside Works headquarters in Manchester. The visit, held on July 12, provided an opportunity for an insightful discussion on various aspects of HMG Paints’ operations, SME’s role in the economy, manufacturing and the broader economic landscape.
The delegation from the Bank of England included Elisabeth Stheeman, an external member of the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee (FPC), and Ken Clark, Deputy Agent for the North West. Additionally, Danielle Haralambous, a Policy Advisor specialising in financial stability, joined the delegation. The delegation was hosted at HMG Paints by Chairman John Falder, Chief Operating Officer Steve Crossman, Financial Director Mike Jennings and Special Projects Director Jonathan Falder.
Mike Jennings, HMG Finance Director said of the visit, “The visit provided a valuable opportunity for us to share our perspectives and experiences and gain insights into the broader economic landscape. We appreciate the Bank’s interest in our operations and look forward to further collaboration in the future.”
During the visit, the Bank of England representatives explored a range of topics that held significant importance for both HMG Paints and the wider economy. Following HMG’s recent recognition as Manufacturing Family Business of the Year by Family Business United, the representatives were keen to get HMG’s insight on the current manufacturing landscape and future outlook.
The visit concluded with a site tour conducted by Jonathan Falder that allowed an insight to the history, ethos and future strategy of HMG Paints, whilst showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable growth.
