El Mohandes Jotun, one of Egypt’s leading paint manufacturers, has inaugurated its new, state-of-the-art factory situated within the 10th of Ramadan City at Zona Franca industrial zone. With an investment surpassing US$100M, the new factory is built over an expansive area of 94,000 square metres and has a production capacity of 70Mlit/yr of paint.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Alaa Manee Head of 10th of Ramadan City authority, Her Excellency Hilde Klemetsdal, Ambassador of Norway to Egypt; Tarek El-Nabarawy, Head of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate; Odd Gleditsch d.y, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jotun A/S; Morten Fon, President and CEO of Jotun, and other Jotun representatives.
The opening of El Mohandes Jotun’s newest and technologically advanced factory in Egypt reflects Jotun’s commitment to the country’s ambition to develop into a diversified economy with increased investments and focus in the manufacturing sector.

“Equipped with the latest technology to improve output and enhance the production processes, we are excited to see Jotun expanding its reach across Egypt and look forward to continue leading the industry with our innovative products and solutions,” said Abdulla Tawakol, Managing Director, El Mohandes Jotun.
The new facility will house multiple departments such as production, warehouse and administrative offices. The new factory has been designed with a focus on limiting environmental impact and energy consumption.
“Today we embark on a new chapter and a huge step to an even brighter future. Our production capacity has steadily increased over three decades. It is the determined support of each and every member of our team that has contributed to make Jotun the most preferred paint manufacturer,” added Tawakol.
Since setting up its first factory in 1986, El Mohandes Jotun has continuously invested in people, manufacturing capacity and product development to meet the increasing needs of the Egyptian market. Today, El Mohandes Jotun boasts a nationwide dealer distribution with more than 600 shops, and a strong position in decorative, protective and marine coatings.
