The ChemQuest Group, a global consulting firm focused on tailored business strategy and optimisation, technology acceleration, market intelligence and M&A advisory services for the specialty materials industry, has appointed Philip Marsh Business Development Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Drawing on more than 25 years of extensive experience in the global chemical industry, Marsh will primarily drive EMEA business development for ChemQuest’s Business Strategy & Transformation and M&A Advisory Services pillars. His track record includes successes in new product development and launch, mergers and acquisitions, production startups and global business leadership.
Marsh has held several key and senior-level executive positions with companies such as British Petroleum, IMCD, Hexion, Emerald Performance Materials, and Lanxess. He most recently led the development and launch of a new range of plasticisers in a business development role with Emerald Kalama Chemical. Before joining Emerald, Marsh led the Global Coating Dispersions business of Hexion, overseeing the successful sale of the business to Synthomer in 2016.
“Philip has an extensive background in chemicals across a diverse landscape. He will be a great asset as ChemQuest expands in EMEA, working to drive buy- and sell-side M&A advisory activities and participating in consulting project work as client needs arise. I am excited to have Philip on the team and look forward to seeing how he channels his expertise to drive our growth in the region,” said Daniel Murad, ChemQuest CEO.
Marsh earned a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College, London. He is based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
“I am pleased to be joining ChemQuest, a team with people who I have known and respected at various stages throughout my career. My business development role will be one where I can utilize my contact base in the chemical industry to develop new buy-side and sell-side business for the ChemQuest M&A pillar. I am also looking forward to using my experience and expertise to engage in existing M&A project work with the ChemQuest team,” Marsh said.
