Axalta is to expand its Landshut, Germany, site, creating a second production facility in the region for bonded metallic powder coatings, alongside Axalta’s Montbrison plant in France.
The second production facility will enable Axalta to better respond to the increasing demand for high-quality metallic powder coatings, which are used specifically in architectural and design applications.
Axalta’s powder coatings product portfolio includes the ICONICA, Optimum Fine Textured, Anodic and Timeless collections, as well as more than 150 currently available, off-the-shelf metallic powder coatings.
"We are excited to expand our production capabilities in Germany with state-of-the-art equipment that will continue to offer customers the highest quality products and increased capacity,” said Klaus Gast, Business Director for Powder Coatings business in Europe.
"The new equipment will create greater efficiency, faster turns and the ability to produce small batches at short notice as needed.
"This gives us greater flexibility and offers even better outcomes and service for our customers.”
Axalta’s metallic powder coatings meet the requirements of Qualicoat Classes I and II as well as GSB International quality standards Standard and Master.
Bonded powder coatings have a high UV stability and are very durable.
The coated surfaces are characterised by high brilliance, optical depth and a wide variety of amazing colour effects.
Bonded metallic powder coatings are used in the coating of façade elements, profiles and aluminium and steel cladding, as well as coating for windows, doors and indoor and outdoor furniture.
