A fully interactive experience awaits consumers at the new Dulux concept store in Shanghai, where AkzoNobel is using digital technology and personalised services to make painting less complicated and more fun.
The first of its kind in China, the store showcases Dulux’s colour expertise and sustainable product features.
The store makes use of online and offline tools to create a one-stop immersive experience.
Featuring more than 200 colours from the Dulux range, as well as samples of paint textures and patterns, experts are also on hand to provide counseling and real-time demonstrations of customised designs and colours chosen by customers via apps and in-store virtual reality devices.
"We are making personalised total solutions – colour, products and services – into a full experience for the consumer," said Dr Lin Liangqi, President of AkzoNobel China and Business Director of the company’s Decorative Paints business in North Asia.
"The Dulux concept store makes our colour and product expertise readily accessible with digital tools.
"When people walk into the store, we hope our passion for paint inspires them as they create their own modern, colourful and dynamic living spaces."
Also highlighting Dulux’s professional renewal services and the effect of soft furnishing materials, such as curtains and wallpapers, the store helps make repainting and decorating a breeze.
An artistic installation and display showing the evolution of the Color of the Year provides even more inspiration.
An example of the digital services from Dulux available to consumers around the world is the award-winning Visualizer app – a digital colour tool with more than 20 million downloads globally.
The app allows consumers to see the effect of any colour on the wall – before having to apply a drop of paint.
In 2018 AkzoNobel enhanced its stores network by acquiring Whites Trade Paints, Cambrian Decorators Supplies (C.D.S.) Limited and Trade Paints, all based in the UK.
Further improving the service and support offered to its customers, there are now 219 Dulux Decorator Centres in the UK.
