Local talents and artists showcased their creativity in mural art at selected Starbucks stores in Malaysia last week, celebrating the newly launched campaign ‘Show Your Flavor’, which focuses on self-expression through colour this summer. Artists created their masterpieces on Starbucks’ store walls using colourful paints provided by AkzoNobel. The murals will be painted on several selected stores in Klang Valley and Penang and the plan is to add more stores with other themes in the future.
"This summer, the iconic Frappuccino blended beverages are inspired by our customers’ personalities: fun, creative and bold. We created beverages that match customers’ summer moods, handcrafted to match their summer personalities," said Mr Sydney Quays, CEO of Berjaya Food Berhad. "These artists get to show their personality by expressing their colours and creativity through mural art at Starbucks. We love seeing how creative they are at expressing their summer feelings."
"We are excited to join forces with Starbucks to allow talented artists to showcase their creativity with the colours of summer. This initiative fits very well with AkzoNobel’s continuous effort in supporting local talent and our Human Cities Initiative, which is our commitment to improving, energising and regenerating urban communities across the world," said Mr Indra Laban, General Manager of AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Malaysia. "We strongly believe in the power of paint to transform people’s lives by uplifting communities and making living spaces more fun, liveable and enjoyable. These walls have now become tools for inspiration and connection."
