In a year marked by intense global challenges, IGL Coatings emerges as a beacon of resilience for its worldwide achievements in automotive and industrial coatings. A Malaysian company with international appeal, IGL’s top 2023 highlights include being listed as the number one ‘High Growth Manufacturer’ in Malaysia, selling out its product launch in the United States and receiving the SEMA Media Award in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Like many industries, IGL Coatings faced its fair share of challenges in 2023, from supply chain disruptions to economic uncertainties. IGL Coatings has benefitted more than 5000 micro-entrepreneurs internationally, achieving its ESG goals of cutting emissions by 30% and much more.
Three new products, one brand new series and a celebration of Kustom Kulture
It’s a year of innovation for the three year, single-layer coating, Ecocoat Elixir, enhancing smoothness by 57% and improved waterspot resistance by 80%. It was launched together with a reformulated Ecocoat Shield for better compatibility with PPF’s and Wraps.
With the increased demand for Electric Vehicles and vehicle care, IGL Coatings launched a specialised interior detailer, Ecoclean Interior Detailer, best for detailing advance tech interiors for EV’s like Teslas, Leafs, and BYD.
Together with its Partners at Aprilia, Triumph, Royal Enfield and Art of Speed, IGL Coatings introduced Ecoclean AIO Spray and Ecocoat Visor, specially created for motorcycles and riders.
The company also addressed the eco-conscious solutions of the maritime community, with Marine Solutions. A dedicated line of sustainable marine coatings and products that embodies the company’s unwavering dedication to environmental responsibility.

International accolades and recognition
Number one ‘High Growth Manufacturer’ in Malaysia and ‘Top 500 High Growth Companies in Asia Pacific’, as recognised by the Star, Financial Times and Statista.
The international recognition and latest award for IGL Aegis Anti Corrosion Solution continues, with the SEMA Media Award and the ITEX Gold and Silver Award for Ecocoat Kenzo.
The introduction of new distributors in the United Kingdom and The Netherlands marks a significant step forward in building the global brand. Impressively, the Dutch introduced a network of 17 new detailers in the automotive scene. Additionally, in the UK it has worked its way to be the top choice for the best valeters in the country.
These expansions into familiar territories have not only reaffirmed IGL’s commitment to serving the global market but has also set the stage for further innovation, collaboration and growth in the years to come.
IGL Coatings also hosted Australia, Singapore and its Malaysian detailers at its headquarters in Shah Alam. The event comprised hands-on training, creation of products, new product testing, R&D insights, manufacturing and ISO processes and systems.
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Efforts
IGL continues its goal towards sustainability, including collaborating with DHL Express to reduce carbon emissions in transportation, implementing water-saving technologies to cut water consumption and fostering global economic growth by creating thousands of IGL entrepreneurs.
IGL has also announced its transition to cleaning product lines of 100% biodegradable formulas, diminishing their environmental impact and contributing to a cleaner earth. Additionally, a 99% recyclability of packaging reflects IGL Coating’s dedication to a sustainable business model.

Another significant effort is the strategy to address emissions from operations. By actively engaging in carbon offsetting and using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), IGL successfully cuts emissions from international shipping by 30%.
