Axalta opens new ultramodern refinish facility in the Netherlands

Axalta, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, has officially opened its new, state-of-the-art, sustainable facility in the Netherlands to strengthen its Dutch refinish business further. The ultramodern, strategically located facility in the Tiel municipality enables Axalta to provide more customers with its industry-leading refinish paint and non-paint products and services. The Axalta global refinish brands in the Netherlands – Cromax^®, Spies Hecker, Standox and Syrox^TM – all relocated to the new facility in May 2021.

"This is an exciting time for our refinish business in Europe and specifically, the Netherlands. Our new facility in Tiel is all-electric and exceeds local sustainability requirements. It makes us an excellent, future-ready partner to our customers as we work together toward a greener future,” said Jim Muse, Vice President of Axalta Refinish in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Muse officially opened the new 7,250m² premises on Friday 24 September 2021. Members of the Axalta Leadership Team in Europe, the Management Team in the Netherlands, Axalta Refinish employees, as well as key customers and partners attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by a reception that adhered to local pandemic guidance.

The facility includes the new Dutch Axalta Refinish Academy, which is an innovative bodyshop environment for training refinishers of the future to deliver the highest-quality paint repairs. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology and delivers advanced techniques such as next-generation drying tools – including an infrared drying rail system. It also boasts the recently-launched Daisy Wheel 3.0, which enables fully end-to-end automated colour mixing for the first time and works seamlessly with Axalta’s Digital Colour Management.

A separate mixing room – part of Axalta’s direct point of distribution – is equipped with an ultramodern dual paint mixer to make it quick and easy for customers who need large quantities of refinish coatings. The new facility also comprises expanded office space across three floors, a large, automated warehouse for first-class service delivery and local colour development.

We are committed to helping our customers become more productive with high-quality coating products, as well as providing training and consultancy on key business topics such as efficient bodyshop processes for improved profitability.”

Axalta’s facility is located at Tiel’s Business Park Medel, where green management, sustainability, security and infrastructure are the top priorities. The business park offers easy access to major transport routes so Axalta’s customers are within easy reach for visits and order fulfillments.
