ChemSpec celebrates first anniversary of Mexican subsidiary

28 June 2017

ChemSpec Ltd, a member of the Safic-Alcan Group family of companies, formed a subsidiary, ChemSpec México, S De RL DE CV, in August 2016 to serve the rapid growth of automotive manufacturing in México, specifically in the central states − often referred to as the ‘automotive/rubber triangle’ region. ChemSpec México is strategically based in Querétaro, with additional warehousing and logistics business support in nearby Laredo, TX.

A management-owned distributor of speciality chemical additives and speciality elastomers for many polymer compounding and cosmetic ingredient markets, ChemSpec México focuses on providing sales and technical support to the elastomer compounding industry−notably for tyre and technical rubber production in the region. Additionally, they also support other Mexican CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomer and Plastics) manufacturing segments.

According to Dave Moreland, ChemSpec’s President: "Our move into Mexico a year ago aligned with Safic-Alcan’s overall strategy of growing its presence across the NAFTA Region. Additionally, ChemSpec has always done its best to follow market trends so that we can better service our customer-base. Over the past year, customers have responded positively to our support of having our employees ‘on the ground’ providing them with more flexibility logistically−ultimately enabling ChemSpec to support their Mexico-based customers while continuing to promote overall business growth.”

ChemSpec México’s Sales & Marketing Manager, Manuel Cortés, has been successful in the past year, establishing the brand presence of ChemSpec México by providing formulators in the growing region with value-driven solutions.
