The 27th Asia Pacific Coatings Show (APCS) welcomed more than 2000 visitors on its first day in Jakarta.
This year the show is the largest it’s ever been, with more than 200 exhibitors from across the coatings industry.
Opening the show, Ian Faux, Vice President of the Coatings Group for dmg events (MEA), noted how over the past 27 years APCS has grown to be one of the most important global events in the coatings sector, reflecting the growth of the industry in the Asia Pacific region itself.
Also opening the event was Yacub Wirawan, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Paint Manufacturers’ Association.
He expressed his hope that APCS will continue to contribute to the growth of the Asian coatings industry as a whole, and support the Indonesian market in particular.
Mr Wirawan noted the importance of trade shows for building on knowledge, human resources and development in the industry.
Day one of the APCS conference provided an interestnig and informative platform for sharing knowledge, with a market overview from Frost & Sullivan kicking off proceedings by highlighting the region’s strengths and trends.
By 2030, it is forecast that the population of Asia Pacific’s middle class will be five times larger than Europe’s and 10 times larger than North America’s, adding to the already existing boon in the construction and automotive industries.
Amongst this atmosphere of optimism, business was booming in the trade show and the free-to-attend business presentations were also very well attended, with companies demonstrating their latest technological developments.
The show is taking place on the 13th-15th September, at the Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Centre, Indonesia, and is free to attend for professionals from the coatings industry.
